"Land use planners make important decisions that impact our daily lives – they develop means to create sustainable and liveable communities. This includes decisions on how the height or massing of a proposed building affects an adjacent neighbourhood, how to appropriately buffer sensitive land uses from industry or how to promote intensification and efficient use of land to maximize the use of existing public infrastructure. Good land use planning decisions lead to safe, attractive, healthy and sustainable communities”
