Places of Worship Policy Review
The City of Brampton is currently undertaking a review of its policy regarding Places of Worship. Issues include site reservation, recommended number, location and size of Places of Worship sites, traffic, parking and the appropriateness of associated uses. Given that Brampton is the second fastest growing city in Canada, with a population representing more than 70 different cultures, it is important that the City responds to its citizens’ changing needs.
With the help of Brampton’s diverse faith community and the general public, the City and its consultants are currently examining the issues that should be considered when preparing policies and regulations to meet needs of both the faith groups and the community-at-large. Gagnon & Law Urban Planners Ltd. participates in this process as a member of the Community Advisory Committee.
It is expected that a Recommendation Report to Planning Committee and Council will be prepared in the Fall of 2008.
